What is Medical Transcription?
Medical transcription is the process of transcribing or converting recorded dictations by physicians and/or other healthcare professionals regarding a patient's medical record into a written text form. The transcribing of such recorded dictations may include history and physical reports, clinic notes, office notes, operative reports, consultation notes, discharge summaries, letters, psychiatric evaluations, laboratory reports, x-ray reports and pathology reports.
What is required to be a Medical Transcriptionist?
A medical transcriptionist is required to have a good listening and language skill, along with the knowledge of medical terms. These requirements can be fulfilled by an intensive training course which we currently offer. So in our training, we will be concentrating the most on developing a good listening skill, along with basic knowledge of medical terms and grammar/sentence structuring.
How long will be the training course and what are the parts of training?
The intensive training will be for five months, comprising of:
Grammar and Vocabulary (60 hours)
Anatomy (120 hours)
Drug Classification (60 hours)
Transcription (400 hours)
Typing (60 hours)
Some of the topics in anatomy that we will be covering are: Allergy, Dermatology, Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Endocrinology, Oncology/Hematology, Rheumatology, Cardiology, Surgical, Plastics, Pulmonary, Gastrointestinal, Neurology, Urology, etc.
During training period, a test will be taken on a daily basis to evaluate everybody's performance.
Will I be job guaranteed after the training?
